Single ticket lands $478 million Powerball jackpot

ATLANTA (WJW) — A single ticket sold in Georgia has won the Powerball jackpot, matching all six numbers drawn on Wednesday night for a staggering prize of $478.2 million.

The winning numbers from the Oct. 23 drawing were 2, 15, 27, 29, 39, and the red Powerball 20, with a Power Play® multiplier of 2X.

The lucky ticket holder now faces the decision between an annuitized prize of $478.2 million or a lump sum cash payment of $230.6 million, both options before taxes.

In addition to the jackpot winner, the drawing saw 616,153 tickets nationwide winning smaller prizes. Notably, two tickets matched all five white balls, earning $1 million each. Those tickets were sold in Pennsylvania and Texas.
